On May 29th, a semi truck flipped on a Canadian highway near Kemptown, Colchester County.

The semi truck was headed to Dartmouth on Highway 104 when a tire on the passenger side of the trailer blew, causing the driver to lose control of the truck. The trailer then hit a guardrail and drifted along the highway. The cab and trailer overturned and the cab came to a stop at the median.

Local Express reported that the crash occurred between exits 17 and 18a.

The semi truck was hauling a load of crab which scattered across the highway.

The tractor trailer ended up blocking both lanes of traffic. Highway 104 was closed for several hours for crews to clean up and unload boxes of crab before the semi truck could be righted.

Traffic was rerouted onto Highway 4. Motorists were urged to find alternate routes.

Truro Daily News reported that emergency crews were called to the scene after 11 a.m.

The truck driver was uninjured, but his female passenger was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
