The Pennsylvania Turnpike has reopened after a multi-vehicle crash shut down a large stretch of the highway on Tuesday.
The accident occurred around 4 p.m. in Somerset County, and lead to an 86-mile closure, between Breezewood and New Stanton.
Three tractor trailers and one passenger vehicle were involved. Seven people were injured.
A car hauler that was part of the pileup caught fire after the crash. The flames were finally extinguished around 7 p.m.
The highway is now open in both direction, however PennDOT warns of heavy congestion in the westbound lanes.
