If you got your CDL required physical from parking lot chiropractor, you may have been duped.
Dr. Paul Bateman, a formerly licensed chiropractor, has been frequenting truck stops in Albuquerque, New Mexico, offering low price physicals to drivers needing to meet DOT requirements. However, he was operating illegally, without a valid medical license, and now many drivers are getting their CDL yanked due to invalid medical cards.
KOB News reported that he was performing “very basic physicals” and issuing drivers cheap medial cards. State Police say he’s issued over 600 medical cards, and now faces over 600 counts of forgery for his actions.
The drivers affected by Bateman’s fraudulent examinations must now get a real physical from a DOT certified examiner before having their CDL’s reinstated.
