
The Kansas Department of Transportation is advising drivers to stay off the road in central and western Kansas due to a large winter storm that hit the area.
On Tuesday, KDOT announced major closures on Interstate 70, which include:
Westbound I-70 closed from Salina to Colorado border (about 250 miles)
Eastbound I-70 closed from Hays To Colorado Border (about 160 miles)
According to the Kansas Transportation blog, numerous other highways are closed including “stretches of U.S. 36, U.S. 40, U.S. 27, U.S. 83, K-9, K-161, K-117 and K-25”.
KDOT also warned that there is no truck parking west of Salina.

The Kansas Department of Transportation has reported that Interstate 70 is back open.
