A 12-year-old girl was going for a ride with her truck driver father on Monday when the semi truck overturned in a Illinois suburb.

The accident occurred on Route 20 in Pingree Grove. The truck, owned by Landstar Inway Inc., was hauling flammable liquids and overturned around 5:15 am after leaving the road for unknown reasons.

The truck driver, Dior L. Turner of South Bend, Indiana, survived and was taken to Presence St. Joseph Hospital, although his current condition is unknown. His 12-year-old daughter was killed after being ejected from the truck during the crash and pinned under the cab.

According to WNDU, no other vehicles were involved in the crash, although some power lines and a guardrail were damaged.

This comes just a week after another crash semi truck crash involving a 3-year-old and his father, which claimed the life of the driver.
