truckers gather for tribute

Grady Waxenfelter, a weighmaster in Oregon, was shot and killed after stopping a truck that was missing license plates.

Normally, inspectors are low on the list of truck drivers’ favorite people to see but no one deserves such a fate and the truck drivers of the community gathered to show their respect.

Before his funeral service, over a hundred drivers lined up and drove from Oregon City to Estacada to pay him a proper trucker’s tribute.

They remembered him with kind words, with one driver saying: “I used to pull over when he was inspecting trucks just to talk to him, he was a good guy.”
