A truck driver lost his life after losing control of his vehicle and overturning on a highway ramp on Tuesday.
The incident happened in New Lenox, Illinois, around 4 p.m.
According to the Illinois State Police, the truck was traveling on the Interstate 355 southbound ramp to Interstate 80 eastbound when its load shifted, causing the truck to overturn and tumble over the right shoulder concrete barrier.
The driver of the truck was ejected from the vehicle and killed in the crash. A passenger in the truck was injured and taken to a nearby hospital. The driver’s and passenger’s identities have not yet been released.
The ramp was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
