Two adults and one child were killed, and 12 more injured, this past Sunday in Haaksbergen, Netherlands during a monster truck rally. A gigantic monster truck lost control after smashing 6 cars in its performance.
Spectators were taken by complete surprise when the truck took a frightening turn into the crowd. Tragically, many did not have time to react and get out of its way as it claimed the lives of three.
A spectator at the rally reports:
“It was awful to see. It was not too bad in terms of speed. But such a truck is so heavy, there is nothing that can be done. I think people did not have time to jump away. It was too late. I saw many people lying on the ground, and people running there to help. There were also people under the truck.”
Some speculators are wondering if there was a malfunction with the accelerator or brakes on the truck, causing it to lose control. The driver, according to local press, did not sustain any injuries and is being detained by authorities.
