One man was hospitalized early Saturday after he drove the wrong way down Interstate 75 and crashed into a tanker truck.
It happened in Hillsborough County, Florida on June 17th at approximately 4 a.m.
According to News Channel 8, 29-year-old Rogelio Ramirez was driving a 2015 Hyundai Accent north in a southbound lane on I-75 when he approached a tractor trailer tanker.
The driver of the semi swerved in an attempt to avoid hitting the wrong-way driver, but the Hyundai struck the back end of the tractor trailer anyway.
Ramirez was reportedly heavily intoxicated at the time of the accident and was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the tanker truck, a man from Brandon, Florida, was not injured in the crash.
Charges against Ramirez are still pending.
