A massive mudslide covered parts of Los Angeles, California, on Thursday, leaving hundreds of motorists stranded and devouring semi trucks and other vehicles. The mudslides were caused by heavy thunderstorms and torrential rain in the area.
One driver managed to record a jaw dropping video of the event, after following the popular GPS app Waze directly into the heart of the mudslide zone. According to the company’s description, ‘Waze is the world’s largest community-based traffic and navigation app.’
The video was posted by Instragram user JeremyKBlack with the caption, “Well, this just happened. Thanks Waze app for leading us directly into a flash flood / mud flow zone. #itsgoingtobealongnight”. It was taken in the Tehachapi Pass Wind Farm in Kern County, California.
