A truck driver survived a terrifying accident on Wednesday morning, when a load of metal pipes went crashing through the truck’s cab.
It happened on a foggy Highway 19 near Edmonton in Alberta, Canada, around 7:30 a.m.
According to CTVNews.com, the truck driver told police that he “hit the brakes too late” and slid into an intersection. The sudden stop caused the load of metal pipes to shift forward and penetrate the truck’s cab.
Amazingly, the driver was able to walk away from the crash uninjured. No one else was involved in the accident.
“It was good to know that he was out walking around and that he wasn’t injured by this, because otherwise this could’ve been a completely different incident,” Fire Chief David Brooks said about the incident.
Police say low visibility, due to heavy fog in the area, was a factor in the crash.
