A truck driver is lucky to be alive after being the victim of a violent robbery in Atlanta on Tuesday.

The driver, who worked for JB Hunt, was hijacked on Marietta Street and Perry Boulevard shortly after leaving the Norfolk Souther train yard. Two men approached his rig, shot him in the head, and took off with his truck.

The cab was later found in Dekalb County without the trailer. According to WSBTV, the trailer contained a load of home furniture.

Atlanta Police Captain Terrel Griffin told reporters, “They forced him out of the truck, a struggle ensued, the victim was shot once. He had a graze wound to the head. He has been transported to Grady Hospital and is in stable condition at this time.”

Local police are looking for clues in order to identify and find the criminals.

This is the second incident of a truck driver shot and robbed in just the last few days, the other taking place in Orlando after a driver stopped to ask for help.
