A truck fell into a a sinkhole while trying to park in California last week.

It happened Friday morning on Seventh and Townsend streets in San Francisco.

According to SFGATE, officials said the trucker was preparing to park as the pavement collapsed and the truck moved onto its side. They said the sidewalk then broke and buckled.

The opening was approximately 10 feet by 20 feet and had a depth of around three feet, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission spokeswoman Betsy Rhodes told the AP.  She said it is being filled with gravel and sand.

The cause of the sinkhole remains uncertain.

The trucker, Alejandro Curiel, escaped the truck and was not injured during the incident.
