There’s an old story in history about an ancient samurai who could never be beaten. A famous tale of his is when he defeated 3 adept samurai warriors using nothing but a wooden boat oar. Message of this story: anything can be your weapon.
This tale might not be as “epic” as the samurai, but one trucker demonstrates how anything can be an adequate weapon when needed.
According to the Northwest Indiana Times, a man at the Speedway gas station at U.S. 35 and U.S. 20 in Michigan City attacked a truck driver because he was blocking his path.
At first it started as a verbal altercation, but 51-year-old James Shafer eventually left his vehicle, broke one of the truck’s headlight, and then pulled out a knife.
The trucker was able to fend off the attack by striking Shafer several times with the squeegee. The police eventually arrived and arrested Shafer for criminal recklessness. He was taken to LaPorte County Jail and later released on $750 bail.
