A truck diver was arrested after a hit and run accident that claimed the life of another trucker in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, on Friday morning.
According to police reports, 24-year-old truck driver Zivko Lakic, of Bronx, New York, was stopped on northbound Interstate 81, near mile marker 56, when he was struck by another tractor trailer around 6 a.m.
The truck sideswiped Lakic’s rig and fatally wounded the driver, who was standing near the driver’s side door of his stopped truck. The suspect failed to stop at the scene and continued heading north.
Police were able to locate the suspect at the Pilot Flying J truck stop in Dauphin County, approximately 20 miles north of where the accident occurred. ABC27.com reported that officials were able to identify the truck because of the front end damage.
