Three people were killed after an SUV slammed into a parked semi trailer early Wednesday morning.

It happened on July 26th on the Alderwood Mall Parkway in Lynnwood, Washington shortly after 3 A.M.

According to KOMO news, an SUV was driving north near the 16900 block of the Alderwood Mall Parkway when it slammed into a semi trailer parked on the side of the highway. The impact forced the SUV almost completely underneath the trailer, and shearing off the roof of the car.

Two of the SUV passengers were killed in the crash. Two more were transported to a nearby hospital, but one of them succumbed to their injuries on the way there.

The remaining survivor is a 15-year-old girl who has not yet been identified. She is said to be in stable condition.

Shari Ireton, an officer at the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, said that semi trucks often park along the Parkway at night and that it is legal to do so.

The Alderwood Mall Parkway was closed between Highway 525 and 164th Street Southwest until approximately 9:30 a.m.

The identities of the deceased, as well as the truck driver, have not yet been released.
