What would you call an over-sized oversize load? I want to say “ubersize”.

Anyway, here’s a granddaddy of a haul. A 1.7 million pound Toshiba steam turbine engine is making it’s way from the port of Houston to a power plant in Riesel at the blistering speed of 10 mph.

Joking aside, the travel speed comes as no surprise, the thing is massive, easily the size of a football field and easily the heaviest load ever to be moved to be transported in Texas. It’s 18 feet high and 39 feet wide and was transported by a custom rig with 520 wheels. If you’re caught behind this colossus on the road, well, tough luck.

All in all, the “ubersize” load traveled a total of 250 miles on maintained roads and crossed 82 bridges.
