Lumber was left strewn across a highway in Seattle on Wednesday after a semi truck swerved to avoid a reckless motorist.
The incident happened on May 2nd at approximately 10:30 a.m. in Seattle, Washington.
According to KOMO News, a semi truck was driving on Interstate 5 southbound near Yesler Street when a van suddenly changed lanes in front of the tractor trailer, forcing the truck driver to swerve in order to avoid a collision, dislodging its load of lumber and spilling it across the highway.
The spilled lumber then caused two other vehicles to crash, flipping one completely upside down.
Luckily, no injuries were reported in the crash, but the mother and baby in the rolled vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital as a precaution.
The spilled lumber forced the closure of several lanes of southbound I-5 for several hours as crews worked to clear the wreckage. Backups stretched as far as four miles in either direction.
It is not clear whether the van responsible was involved in any of the collisions, or if the motorist received any citations.
