A truck driver was cut off by a motorist in Las Vegas, causing it to lose control and spill its load of beer on a police officer that was making a nearby traffic stop.
The incident happened on Interstate 15 on Tuesday evening and was caught on the officer’s dash cam.
In the video, Nevada Highway Patrol officer Travis Smaka approaches a motorist that he stopped for suspicion of drunk driving. As he approaches the vehicle and begins to question the driver, the truck is cut off and rains down beer on the officer, the stopped car, and the rest of the highway.
“Just as I ask the question, I hear the sound that always gets the hairs on my neck standing up, of brakes locking up,” Trooper Smaka told reporters. “Over 1,000 pounds of beer shattering and a tidal wave of beer coming at me,” he added.
Thankfully, no one was injured in accident.
Trooper Smaka said that although the video is amusing, “it’s a reminder of what happens on the freeway when people cut off semis.”
In addition, the Nevada Highway Patrol has announced that they will be riding shotgun in semi trucks next week in order catch other motorists who drive dangerously around semi trucks.
