A weigh station in O’Fallon, Illinois, has been placed out of service after an accident on Friday evening.
The O’Fallon East Bound Weigh station is located on Interstate 64 at mile marker 18, west of IL158. According to reports, a tractor trailer was unable to stop in time and crashed into the scale house, causing damage to the structure. The truck driver was not injured.
The cause of the crash was not released, however slick roads were reported in the area throughout the day.
“The I-64 eastbound truck scale house suffered significant damage after a truck tractor / semi truck was unable to stop, and crashed into it late Friday evening. Thankfully the driver was not injured,” the Illinois State Police District 11 wrote on Facebook.
