Just one week after the International Roadcheck commercial vehicle inspection blitz, Nebraska State Patrol conducted their own surprise vehicle inspection operation and took 46% of the trucks inspected off the road.
It happened on June 13th in Fremont, Nebraska.
According to a press release from the Nebraska State Patrol, 65 inspections were conducted during the event. In total, 201 violations were found, taking 26 vehicles off the road.
Four drivers were also taken out of service. Of the four, three had no commercial license and 1 had no valid driver’s license at all, NSP reported.
A total of $3,385 in fines were issued during the surprise blitz.
The Nebraska State Patrol says that additional surprise inspection operations will take place “from the spring through fall in cities and towns across Nebraska.”
