A motorist was seriously injured after driving into the side of a tractor trailer and getting wedged underneath its trailer.

The accident happened on Monday, December 11th at approximately 6:30 a.m. in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

According to ABC-6 Action News, the tractor trailer was making a left turn from Morris Drive on to Haddonfield-Berlin Road (Route 561) and was stopped on the road when the the car, which was traveling north on Route 561, slammed into its trailer.

The front of the car became wedged underneath the trailer, seriously injuring the motorist.

The unidentified truck driver was not hurt in the incident, but the motorist was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

The accident blocked the road for several hours, but has since been cleared.
