Why did the deer cross the road? To get away from a rising river, apparently.

A Kentucky highway was shutdown for roughly 5 minutes when highway patrol noticed 50 deer attempting to get to the other side. Reporters were shocked to get this footage, as they were originally on the scene to report on an accident involving a single deer, when the herd showed up.

Watch the incredible footage below:

The deer were attempting to escape the flooding on the other side, which occurred due to rising water levels in the Ohio River. Thanks to the highway patrol, and a bunch of patient drivers, they were able to get across safely.
