A garbage truck crashed into a line of parked cars early Wednesday morning, seriously damaging at least 10 vehicles.
The incident occurred on April 4th at approximately 3:30 a.m. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
According to CBS Philadelphia, the unidentified driver says he was operating the private trash truck along Reed Street near 26th Street when the truck had some sort of mechanical malfunction, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The truck then crashed into a line of cars parked on the side of the road, seriously damaging at least 10.
“We are all laying in the bed, when you just heard, ‘Boom, boom boom!’” said Torono Welch, a man who lives near the scene of the accident and whose SUV was damaged in the chaos.
“Sounded like a train came off the track or something out here. The dump [trash] truck just came and hit like ten cars, knocked everybody’s car everywhere tonight.”
There were no injuries sustained in the incident, but crews spent several hours removing the damaged vehicles and trash truck from the side of the road.
No citations were issued to the driver following the incident.
