The owner of an Atlanta insurance agency is in hot water after the feds uncovered his scam, which effected nearly 900 victims.
John P. Kill, owner and CEO of Appeal Insurance Agency, based out of Norcross, Gerogia, issued insurance policies to commercial trucking companies, but pocketing the premiums that were paid, instead of using the funds to secure the companies’ policies.
The trucking companies were therefore uninsured while Kill funded a lifestyle of luxury with the moneys collected.
According to reports, roughly $3.7 million was deposited into Kill’s bank accounts in 2013 and 2014. On Feb 12, federal agents seized $732,000 remaining in the corporate bank accounts of his agency. You can view the full federal complaint here.
