A FedEx semi truck was destroyed earlier today, and the driver injured, when it veered off the road and struck several trees. The incident occurred on the I-94 in Jackson Country, Wisconsin at roughly 3:40am.
The driver, 41-year-old, Thomas Vertein, was able to walk after the cab was ripped away from the tractor. He was taken to a nearby and treated minor injures.
According to officers, Vertein was wearing his seatbelt and alcohol use was not a factor. The driver, however, was issued a ticket for deviating from a designated lane.
