At least three semi trucks overturned in the extreme wind plaguing the state of New York on Wednesday.
The big rigs overturned in Henrietta and Darien, both towns in western New York, before noon on April 4th.
According to AccuWeather, wind gusts of more that 58 mph are possible through the western part of the state until around 12:00 a.m. on Thursday morning and at least three semi trucks have already been overturned in the extreme weather.
At around 11:25 a.m., a tractor trailer traveling through Henrietta on Interstate 390 was suddenly pushed sideways by the wind as it crossed the Thruway bridge. Luckily, the damage to the rig was not severe and the truck driver suffered only minor injuries. His identity has not been released.
Then, on Route 77 in Darien, two semi trucks were tipped over by the wind within 20 minutes of each other, both near the Darien Lake Amusement park. One of the drivers suffered only minor injuries, and the other was unhurt in the incident. Neither of their identities have been released, reported 13 WHAM News.
Officials are warning truck drivers to use extreme caution if traveling through the state, as the high winds are expected to continue through the night and into the early morning.
