A semi truck ended up upside down in some roadside trees on Monday evening after the driver says he fell asleep at the wheel.
The accident happened on September 3rd at around 5:30 p.m. in Weisenberg Township, Pennsylvania.
According to Lehigh Valley Live, the 33-year-old trucker, Matthew R. Clapper, says that he was driving his 2009 Volvo semi truck on Interstate 78 east in Weisenberg Township when he drifted off to sleep, sending the big rig veering off road, into a guardrail, and down an embankment, where it came to a stop almost entirely upside down in some trees.
Clapper had to be rescued from the wrecked big rig but sustained only minor injuries in the wreck and was transported to a nearby hospital only as a precaution.
Police say that Clapper will by cited with several traffic violations, though they did not give specifics.
