A logging truck was involved in a fatal accident in Bradley County, Tennessee, on Wednesday, after passing a red light on Highway 11.

According to Channel 3 news, the driver of the rig failed to stop for a red light and struck 17-year-old Ashlyn Lamberth, who was making a left turn at the intersection between Tasso Lane and Highway 11. She died shortly afterwards as a result of her injuries.

The driver of the rig was identified as 20-year-old Cody Judd, who did not have a commercial driver’s license. According to a Tennesse Highway Patrol spokesperson, a Class B Commercial Driver’s License was required to operate the rig.

The truck belonged to Whitener Pulpwood and Logging. They told reporters that they were aware that Judd was driving the vehicle, although he was not an employee of the company. He was not injured in the crash.

Charges are currently pending.
