A shooting involving a Texas trucking company turned fatal this morning.
The incident took place at Knight Transportation in Katy, Texas in the 20400 block of Franz Road just around 9 a.m.
A disgruntled employee, armed with a shotgun and a pistol, shot and killed his co-worker, injured at least one other employee, and then shot himself.
According to Harris County Sheriff Ron Hickman, after the gunman was fired, he returned to work with a shotgun and pistol but only fired the shotgun.
According to Click 2 Houston, Knight Transportation is located across the street from Franz Elementary School and Morton Ranch High School.
The schools were on lock-down after the incident.
As a result of the shooting, the surviving employee suffered a minor injury to the face, and a Harris County deputy who hurt his knee while entering the building was taken to the hospital.
Neither victim has been identified, and officials have not released any information about the relation they had to the gunman, but Hickman speculated one victim was the former employee’s supervisor.
This is a developing incident still under investigation. Check back for further updates.
