Police officers arrested 37-year-old truck driver Jose Amaya in a Costco parking lot after he allegedly threatened bystanders and police with a machete, while naked.
The incident occurred in a Costco parking lot in Lake Grove, New York on Monday.
According to CBS New York, Amaya, who drives for NYC Transport, was naked in his 2007 Freightliner when officers arrived and initially refused to leave the rig. He later threatened officers and attempted to leave the vehicle with a 20-inch machete in-hand before officers subdued him with a Taser.
No bystanders were injured during the incident. The driver, who police say also lives in the Freightliner, was arrested and charged with menacing a police officer, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and criminal possession of a weapon.
