
Six people have died following a pile-up crash involving more than 20 vehicles on Monday evening.
It happened near Lordsburg, New Mexico on Interstate 10 at approximately 5:15 p.m.
According to KFox14, high winds and a dust storm overcame the highway, causing a wreck involving 18 commercial vehicles and 7 passenger vehicles on the westbound lanes, at mile marker 11.

Of the six people killed in the crash, only two identities have been confirmed – 77-year-old Jose Manuel Clemente and 38-year-old Maurella Clemente Munoz. Several others were injured in the accident.

Roughly 60 miles of the highway was closed as a result of the accident. The closure on the westbound lanes lasted throughout the night.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety helped with traffic control until the section of I-10 was reopened around 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

The crash remains under investigation.
