An array of illegal drugs, including 126 pounds of methamphetamine, were seized from two truck drivers “acting suspiciously” during a traffic stop in Washington late last week.
The drugs were discovered on Thursday, April 26th in Centralia, Washington.
According to Fox 61, police pulled over the 1996 Freightliner with California plates for a routine traffic stop, but called for the help of a narcotics-sniffing K-9 officer after the two men in the truck “began acting suspiciously.” The dog then alerted to the presence of drugs in the cab of the big rig, prompting the officers to search the truck.
Upon searching the semi truck, officers discovered 40 bundles of meth weighing 126 pounds hidden inside a television box in the sleeper berth, along with 2.4 pounds of heroin, several thousand Oxycodone pills, and a few grams of cocaine.
“No contraband was found in the trailer and none of the food product in the trailer was exposed or compromised,” police said in a press release.
The 22 year old unnamed truck driver from Mexicali, Mexico as well as his passenger, an unnamed 62 year old man from Fontana, California, were then taken into custody and booked into the Lewis County Jail on multiple drug charges.
The load of Starbucks products was then transferred to another truck and taken to its destination.
