A group of protesters claims that a semi truck hauling pigs “slammed” into them as they blocked the entrance to a processing plant in a video filmed in Toronto.
The video was posted to Facebook in December by the group Toronto Pig Save, an organization focused on disturbing the transport of livestock in order to “promote a plant-based diet.” (Their words, not ours.)
The protest occurred at the Fearman’s Pork Inc. processing plant in Burlington, Ontario.
In the video, a line of protesters can be seen blocking the truck’s path, preventing him from making the delivery and doing his job.
The protesters then crowd the truck, urging the driver to stop. The driver, however, decides against stopping for the rowdy crowd and creeps past them while blowing his horn in warning.
After the incident, the organization shared the video online with the title Truck driver slams into activists, refusing to stop for 2 mins.
Several Facebook commentators quickly called out the protester’s actions.
